Australian Lawyers and Australian Democracy in 2025
For the 2025 Blackburn Lecture, the Honourable Justice Mossop addresses the external challenges to Australia's democracy, in particular those arising from the changes in the information landscape. It will contend that the challenges are such that active measures need to be taken to ensure that Australia's democracy is able to survive them. It will provide some suggestions as to how Australian lawyers can contribute to making Australian democracy more robust.
