New appointment to the ACT Magistrates Court
The ACT Law Society would like to congratulate Amy Begley on her appointment as a Magistrate of the ACT Magistrates Court. Magistrate Begley will commence in her new capacity from 17 March 2025.
Magistrate Begley is the current Chair of the ACT Law Society’s Family Violence and Children’s Committee.
ACT Law Society President Vik Sundar congratulated Magistrate Begley on her appointment and highlighted her service to the Society and the ACT legal profession more broadly.
“Amy has given much time to the Society and the Committee over the years, and we are certainly the better for it. Amy’s knowledge, sensitivity and judgement have served her well as Chair of the Committee and will stand her in excellent stead as a Magistrate.”
Magistrate Begley joined the Society’s Family Violence and Children’s Committee in the 2022-2023 financial year and was appointed as Chair in 2023-2024.
