With less than four months remaining until the commencement of the AML/CTF reforms, we explored the practical implications of the new legislative changes. Topics that were examined included understanding ongoing money laundering and terrorism financing risk, applying a risk‑based approach to onboarding and monitoring clients, implementing and maintaining sound governance arrangements, and reporting to and dealing with the regulator, AUSTRAC.
