Protecting Your Practice: Cyber Risk in the Legal Profession
Cybersecurity is a growing concern for all legal practitioners. In this session, presented by Malcolm Heath, Lawcover, we explore key cyber risks facing the legal profession, including email interception, impersonation scams, and the manipulation of payment instructions. These tactics are increasingly used to exploit trust between lawyers and clients, leading to financial loss and reputational damage. The ACT Law Society has seen a recent increase, particularly in conveyancing, however, these risks impact all areas of practice. Learn practical steps to reduce your exposure, protect client information, and communicate cyber risks effectively—including at the outset of a matter. Stay informed, stay protected, and safeguard your practice.
For principals of eligible law practices, this session will count as a Maintenance Event for the purposes of Lawcover’s ongoing Risk Management Education Program Premium Discount. For further information, visit Premium Discounts on the Lawcover website.
