Nominations to ACT Law Society Council close Friday!

Calling all Law Society members: nominate for Council!

If you are a member of the ACT Law Society and you’d like to make a difference in the local legal community and contribute to the good governance of the Law Society, nominate for election to Council today.

Nominations are now open for membership of the ACT Law Society Council 2020-2021. You can nominate for more than one position – so you can put your hand up for a Council position as well as nominating to serve on the Executive.

We encourage members from all areas of practice to apply.

Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 14 August 2019. Voting will be held between 28 August and 18 September, and the new Council will be declared at the AGM on Thursday 24 September 2020.

Law Society Council election

In accordance with the Society’s Constitution and By Laws, information provided as part of the Council election process will soon be made available to members online for the 2020 Council elections. Nominations are now being called for election to Council. A member may be nominated for more than one position. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 14 August 2019. Nominations should be made online via this link.

Annual General Meeting 2020

The AGM (followed by a Members’ Lunch) will be held on Thursday 24 September 2020. A formal notice convening the meeting including details of the time and place will be in Hearsay and available on the website in early September. Any members wishing to raise Other Business at the AGM must advise the Executive Secretary in writing by 5pm on Friday 14 August 2019 for inclusion in the notice convening the meeting.
